You are right sir. A lot of the sentiments expressed here, and in the news, concern the illegals being Mexican. I could care less if they are from Mexico, Central America, Brazil, France, England, Germany, Russia, Sweden, well you get my drift.

As an American, I am forced to follow the law and pay the consequences if I don't, RATHER I AGREE WITH THE LAW OR NOT. When the illegals choose to enter our country under the cover of darkness, or the guise of a visit, they are BREAKING THE LAW. Period.

I believe in immigration, every American, with the exception of Native Americans, has to believe in immigration, because that, my friends is how most of us came here. But our ancestors did it legally, and many of them had to jump through many hoops and endure many hardships to gain the right to be an American.

The illegals have already proven that they do not respect our laws, or our society. But now we are supposed to say, "our bad, come on in!" and ignore the law of land.

To steal an expression from the Brits, not bloody likely.

I don't think it is a problem with those that do pay taxes and learn English and are here legally. The problem lies with the trash that are doing none of this and are complaining that they are being picked on.

If anyone wants to come to this country and work hard to make a better living, obey the law and be a benefit not a hindrance to society, let them come. In fact I welcome them.

The ones who are here illegally, don't bother to even try to learn English, work for cash and don't pay taxes yet think they are entitled to all the benefits of living in this country are the problem.

Because then it sends the message that coming here illegally is fine and dandy.I mean come on give me a break many other people wait for legal acceptance to the US why cant they? I am fine with immigrants but we have to regulate them somehow because they are becoming a drain on our country. Also sooner or later there is going to be another terrorist attack because the border is not secure.

I agree. I have no problems with immigrants being here. But from someone who used to live in southern California, I am tired of them sneaking across the border, in trunks of cars, etc. Make them come across the border legally and they will get more help than most "legal" citizens do.

you can't pay taxes if you dont have a social security number, you can't get a social security number if you are not leagal. I think we should be more willing to let them cross the border with a work permit that allows them a special social security number to pay their taxes. Their work ethics are much higher than that of any american that has ever worked for me.

You added the key word to your question: IF.
IF they pay taxes,
IF the learn English.
Most don't and that's the real issue.

no, the real issue is ILLEGAL immigration. if they want to live here, they have to let us know. they shouldn't be allowed to just walk over and move in.
