you cant tell unless you use a sensor or another magnet that you know the poles on
on the horseshoe mag
one end is north the other is south like this U the top left is one pole the top right is another

Hi. A horseshoe magnet is simply a regular magnet, with two opposite poles on each end, bent into a U. The poles are at the tips.
