Especially when it's someone you don't know very well. I understand that they're trying to keep the floor clean, but I don't want them looking at my FEET. And I don't want to catch foot disease from their floor either.

For those of you who felt it necessary to leave a rude answer -- don't worry, I wouldn't want to step foot in your trailers anyhow.
1) The request to remove shoes has occurred at the homes of a couple of my clients. I just think it's a little strange walking around in my business attire and bare feet while going over a sales presentation.
2) My feet are clean and beautiful. Their floors are not.
3) You can pick up plantar's warts and athlete's foot from walking on the same surface that someone that has these afflictions has walked on.

Ater my answer, you'll take your shoes off . . . think about your shoes like this. Esp if you live in a heavily congested area (downtown or suburbs):

Dogs and urinate and defecate everywhere
Homeless as well Urinate and Defecate everywhere
People spit everywhere - and not just saliva but mucus
Drunks at night urinate
Car leak oil, antifreeze, gas, etc

And you, my friend, are walking in all that all the time. And when you get in your house and wake up inthe morning, you don't always have slippers on. And if you wear your outdoor shoes in your home and unless you have your floors steam cleaned and sanitized every morning, you are walking on all that urin, defecation, spit, mucus, spit-out gum, bird poo, dripping engine oil, radiator fluid - and so much else . . .

You can't catch "foot disease" by walking barefoot in their floor. But you gotta trust that they are asking everyone to take their shoes off

Do you really want all that in your home?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. If I lived in China or Japan or it was the home of someone traditional living here, I wouldn't mind so much, I know it's cultural. Put a mat at the front door and ask people to wipe their feet first; I always have enough manners to make sure nothing is stuck to my shoes at all times. If you don't want your precious carpet soiled, then don't invite people into your home. I guess these morons have never heard of Stainguard? It really does make a difference people!

not really. in some asian countries you will be required to take off your shoes before you enter their houses whether you like it or not. they have slippers that you can use, anyway so it's not like you're gonna step on the floor with bare feet. you can wear socks if you're really uncomfortable in showing your feet.

I hate taking my shoes off when i go to someones house unless i have mud on them. i always feel like saying it's called a vacuum, use it and your floors will be clean again.

It's a given for me and most ppl I know. I never ask, but most will ask if i want them to & I always say no. But I live in rural Nova Scotia and we have a fair amt of rain resulting in mud so that maymake the difference.

actually all it means is that they keep their house clean . something that u probably know nothing about. and about your feet it is called a pedicure. about the disease part, if u don't clean your house your floor already gave u some disease. try keeping clean and having respect for people who invite u over.

No I do not. I always take my shoes off when I go to anyone's home, even mine. Bring a pair of slippers with you.
