I think a bad ending is better. It might be bad for you, whatever the situation, but at least you know something rather than being left "dangling in mid-air" and wondering.

definitely bad ending..
Example: if a couple eventually did not get together by end of the show at least i noe there's an ending, better than leaving the audiences confused w/o an ending
