It has to make you feel something intense. You want to get up and dance, sing along, rock-out, get romantic, play the air guitar, lol.

Well there are several answers to this question....

If you want to get romantic - you can always go with Dirty Dancing: Way back old school music from the days of our parents. If you want to go further back than that in terms of music, you can also go with The Notebook: I'll be seing you is a classic love song. But I think my favorite would have to be When Harry Met Sally. Harry Connick Jr. sings old standards throughout the film and its just romantic plain and simple with that jazz vibe.

If you want to JAM - Friday has some killer tunes on it... Hootchie Mama is my favorite!!! We are talking about Ice Cube here HELLO!!!

If you want to THINK about what you are listening to - Go with Phantom Of The Opera - It is a romantic Broadway show with that triangle twist, mystery, passion, sadness and in the end doing the right thing. It is truly amazing...

Two other soundtracks totally worth noting are:

Forrest Gump: The soundtrack travels through time as the film followsGump's journey through life. There are so many killer classics on this soundtrack it is a no-brainer.

Almost Famous - It's a movie about a70's band - great music in this film - my personal favortie is Tiny Dancer by Elton John....

Ok, last one....

Walk The Line - it is absolutely incredible. The amazing couple of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash actually personally chose both Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon to play themselves before they both passed away in 2003. That is quite a compliment to say the least. Not to mention the fact that they sound fantastic!!!! Those 2 actors sing every word in the moviethemselves, a very big accomplishment. I am sure that June and Johnny are smiling down on them from heaven.

Ok - for the record -- Ray Charles hand picked JaimeFoxx personally as well before his death and all that music in the film was all him.... No wonder He AND Reese Witherspoon both won Best Actor/Actress Oscars!!!!!!

This is actually a very good question. It is going to be difficult for me to answer this since I am addicted to movie soundtracks. Especially the instrumental ones, such as Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl-Klaus Badelt, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest-Hans Zimmer, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy-Howard Shore, Pride and Prejudice (2005 version)-Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Troy-James Horner, Ned Kelly-Klaus Badelt, Pearl Harbor-Hans Zimmer, Gladiator-Hans Zimmer, National Treasure-Trevor Rabin, and Braveheart-James Horner.

But since you are looking for soundtracks that make you want to sing along, dance, etc. I would probably have to say Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, Dirty Dancing, Footloose, Phantom of the Opera, and the Wedding Date.

The soundtrack to "Practical Magic" that stars Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. I discovered the music of Joni Mitchell because of that soundtrack! I absolutely love it!! It makes me feel warm and free inside. The word magic, says it all! The score is beautiful! Plus, I now have a favorite song from it: Coconut by Harry Nilsson! I love this soundtrack!

I loved the Forrest Gump soundtrack. So much good music on there. Classic rock at it's best with many classics and great cuts that just took you back to the good ol' days of rock n roll.
