This will be the first year I'll be handing out candy instead of trick-or-treating, and I want to do it in a really fun way that the kids will remember, you know?
Last year there was a house where you went inside, and the woman had a table set (halloween-style, skeletons were sitting at each place) and each bowl had a different kind of mini candy in it!
It was very cool, and we took candy from the bowls.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do?

Wear a fake 'bald wig' and offer the kids 'Deal or No Deal'.

every year we project halloween movies onto our garage door. we play it through the laptop and turn the speakers up nice and loud. we have a fog machine going and we hang out with friends in the driveway and talk and watch the movies and hand out candy. the kids love it... the little ones usually just sit down in the driveway and start watching.

pretend to be a stuffed dummy!! put a mask on and sit in a chair outside, and dont move at all. hold a bowl of candy in your lap and while kids come up and take candy from the bowl, scare them. lol.

Hang up black plastic in your doorway just a little ways inside the door, so that there are three overlapping strips of plastic. have the kids reach into the slots to grab their candy... just tell them to reach in for the surprize, then have someone reach out randomly from one of the other slots in the plastic to grab them (gently of course) Or have a spooky face peek out of the opposite slot where they reach their hands in. Changing it up will keep them on their toes.

Have fun.

instead of ringing the door bell or knocking put a sign that says:

sorry you cant knock or ring the door bell but shout loud and you get candy

something that has to do with screaming and then you open the door and say ooo you are good LOL

First off, you need to be in a costume and have a bag yourself. When they are approaching your door, swing it open, open your bag and yell "Trick or Treat" Then stand confused and scratch your head. Orrrrrrr you could make them do 10 push-ups before they get any treats.

All you need is a slingshot and a bowl full of M&Ms.
