#5 - 1998 N.Y. Yankees - A record 114 wins in the regular season and lost only two games in the playoffs and a four game sweep in the World Series.

#4 - 1976 Cincinnati Reds - 1975 was probably the greatest World Series played when the Reds beat the Red Sox but the next year the Reds dominated the league and went 7-0 through the playoffs and World Series.

#3 - 1955 Broklyn Dodgers - 6 future Hall of Famers and Broklyn's only World Series. Plus, I'm a Dodger fan so I had to put them in.

#2 - 1961 N.Y. Yankees - 109 wins on the year, 240 team homeruns (a then MLB record) which included 6 players with 20+ HR's including Mantle and Maris who broke the Babe's 60 HR record with 61.

#1 - 1927 N.Y. Yankees - "Murderers Row" led by Ruth and Gehrig won 110 games with a 4 game sweep in the World Series. #1 on every great World Series team list.

Well in terms of how many each team has won, here they are:

1. New York Yankees- 26
2. St. Louis Cardinals- 9 (could become 10)
2. Oakland (Philadelphia) Athletics- 9
4. Boston Red Sox- 6
4. Los Angeles (Brooklyn) Dodgers- 6

In terms of the greatest 5 World Series Champions, ESPN did a 3-hour show on that a few months back. Check them out to see if that's what you want.

one million. The 1975 international sequence between the pink Sox and the enormous pink device. i became rooting for the pink Sox for the time of that sequence and could not at all ignore game 6. in keeping with possibility the final game ever performed. I even have an entire replica of that game. extremely an astonishing international sequence 2. The 1991 international sequence between the Twins and Braves. Does it get to any extent further useful than greater innings in game 7. Jack Morris bests John Smoltz one million-0 to win the sequence. 3 of the 7 video games flow greater innings and 5 of the 7 video games have been one run video games! WOW! 3. The 1996 international sequence between the Yankees and Braves. The Braves have been heavy favorites going into the sequence and definitely gained the 1st 2 video games. After being destroyed 12-one million & 4-0 the Yankees someway regrouped and gained the subsequent 4 video games to catch their first international sequence championship in 18 years. It became the beginning up of four international sequence championships in 5 years.

In terms of number of championships the Yankees, but the have almost always had the largest salary so it was a little unfair for all the other teams. Now they still have the largest salary cap and suck so it is starting to even out.
