I hate this. If you are the boss and you have something to say why not just say it. She stays at work until 5pm and I leave at 4:30 I can't figure out why she leaves note at my desk to get in the morning when I get there. We are there together all day. I think this is poor mamagement. It's not even that they are notes telling me I did something wrong or anything like that. Just to ask me if I changed my voice mail and little things. I also find things out that are being done wrong and bring them to her attention and durning the meetings she presents them as if they are her own, or doesn't even say anything about it. I will not tell her anything any more and watch me get in trouble for it. I have been told that after we move to our own building that I will get my own account . I'm nervus to be a boss if I have to lie to my coworkers, and act like that. I am begining to think that this is mandatory if you are going to be a boss/manager........ It sucks!! Why can't they just be honest?

Trust between the manager and his/her direct reports is very important if you are going to succeed. The people that report to you must trust you before they will follow you.

Your boss must be insecure, otherwise he/she would talk to you versus leaving sticky notes. Plus, not giving someone on your team credit for an idea or discovering a problem is the worst thing a manager can do.

Just do this: Remember the things this manager did wrong and don't repeat them when you get your own account. Leaders who lie eventually fail, because no one will follow them.

She probably doesn't see anything wrong with the sticky notes, nor do I. Unless you actually tell her that the sticky notes annoy you, she's not going to know and she's going to keep doing it. It's probably just a part of her routine, she probably just wants to make sure to remind you of whatever's on her mind before she leaves. She probably thinks it's better than disturbing you.
If you're getting this promotion, then she's obviously noticed the extra effort you put in by telling her about the things you notice being done wrong, and you're being rewarded. Does it really make a difference if you get the credit? You're still reaping the rewards and are obviously a valued employee.
Don't sweat it. Either tell her that you'd prefer she contact you directly rather than leaving the notes, or get over it, it's really not that big a deal. You could ask her why she doesnt give you credit, but that might just make you appear ungrateful.
