Why does she hate you? Could it be because she senses that he has feelings for you more than friendship? That would be my guess. I say go for it. But, be careful, you don't want to ruin the great relationship that the two of you already have. Maybe feel him out a bit. Suggest that the two of you do something out of the ordinary like catch a flick in the middle of the afternoon. Or better yet, watch a DVD in your bedroom. See how he reacts. Then, do what seems natural from there. Good luck!

Wow tricky!! I know so many people in the same situation, and every one is different. You do not want to lose your friendship with this guy, so if you think that you could try dating for a while without a messy breakup, then maby you should try. CAUTION: this is a very sensitive situation and you need to think about how he feels about you as well. I hope every thing works out for the best!!

this is tough b/c you don't want to jeopardize what you have and possibly make things awkward w/ a friend. if you are truly best friends and you talk about anything, you should be able to bring it up. bring it up in a non-threatening way and not putting pressure on him at all to make a decision. just be honest w/ how you are beginning to feel. be honest about the transition of your feelings, and see what he thinks about it. i had the same situation w/ my best friend, i fell in love w/ her, fortunately she was cool and it didn't jeopardize anything. but i hope it woks wll

It depends, if you do love him and he does'nt love you back, your friendship can be ruined. But if he feels the same way, both of you should be happy. Give him some time to go through the loss of his ex-girlfriend and then take it slowly.

you should evaluate if what you feel is strong enough to loose your best friend, cause if it doesn't work your friendship will be in jeopardy
