It is pretty appropriate by today standards, it has no nudity and no gore, although it is a bit morbid. It's basically the story of Dracula, actually it was based on the novel, but had to rename the vampire for copright reasons. It relies mainly on the musical score and the lightning to create an eerie atmosphere (shadows and such), and the vampire Nosferatu is particularly ugly and repulsive. I would still not show it to children under 12 but it being a silent film they might not be interested.

Nosferatu (1927)

F.W. Murnau's Nosferatu is the unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Nosferatu represents one of the first treaments of the Vampire on film and remains a classic in cinimatic history.

There's a 70's remake that might be. But the original silent one is certainly family friendly.
