If I can't find my melinum discs can I use the ones that came with my Compaq laptop, Presario???

Well that depends. are you talking Recovery discs? and did you load melinium from a Windows disc? If you did the recorery discs may not work Windows ME is crap If I were you I would get a windows 2000 pro disc and replace the ME. XP may not work on your laptop.

You can try it, but it most likely will load the wrong drivers required for that laptop. Licensing isn't really an issue since most of them are volume licenses anyway.
