If your MoBo (Mother Board) has an "On Board" or built-in sound card device, you may need to disable this on board device before any installed sound card will work.

Shut down the computer (Not Re-Start, but Shut Down).

Re-start the computer.

Continually press the "Delete" key every 5 seconds during start-up.
(For some computers, instead of "Delete" try the F10, F1, F2 keys")

When in the BIOS setup, try to poke around and find the "Integrated Devices" option and disable the "Integrated Sound" option.
