If you have had a c-section does that mean any other baby you have will be by a c-section also?

No. But they probably should be. You see, surgery in that area weakens the membranes and causes a serious chance of rupturing the old c-section when you attempt to deliver another child vaginally.

Take the c-section... and look on the bright side. While your neighbors in the rooms are shrieking like banshees next door, you will gently smile and fall mentally asleep. When you wake from your mental vacation, you will have your baby while the other ladies are still screaming in agony.

No. It does not. My first was a c-section. But they were going to let me try for a vaginal birth the second time. The only problem was that there were complications after 7 hours of labor and they decided to do a c-section. I'm pregnant for the third time. If I were anywhere else I could probably attempt a vaginal delivery even though I've had two c-sections. But I'm on a military base in Japan and the docs won't even try. They say I MUST have the c-section. But I've known of women who have had like three c-sections and then delivered vaginally the fourth time. So, a c-section doesn't condemn you to c-sections for life.

Not necessarily. I had a section...and I don't recommend it. I live in New Hampshire, so if I want to have a second baby in a hospital in New Hampshire I will have to have a scheduled section. But...if I travel a few minutes north (Maine) or south (Massachesetts) I can easily find a hospital where I can have a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean). The reason some hospitals won't let you is beacuase there is a 1% chance of uterine rupture. They are trying to protect themselves from lawsuits. To be perfectly honest, there is actually more risk of complication from the surgery than the rupture with a VBAC. A cesarean is not good for mommy or baby. I will definitely try for a natural delivery the second time, it's worth the travel for me.

No, things have changed drastically over the past few decades. As long as you are not a high risk pregnancy, you should have no problems having a vaginal birth. The phrase for it is called "vbac" and means you had a c-section for one birth and now plan to have a natural birth with another pregnancy. Talk to your doctors and midwives so they know about your concerns. Some doctors get old fashioned and will tell you no, so keep asking until they tell you yes. It's your right to try.

No I had a c-section with my fourth child because it was an emergancy. I had my fifth a year latter and my doctor said that I could go naturally if I wanted I opted to have another c-section because I wanted my tubes tied at the same time.

Not necisarily, Many women have Vbac's but your incesion can not be at a "stress" point to do so, consult your OB for a consultation. He / She will be able to tell you if you can.
