This assertion is simply not true. Our Vice President insinuated on Meet the Press in December 2001 that there was evidence of Iraq doing 9/11.

Those 500 Artillery shells were later proven to have been produced before 1991 and the mustard gas in them was severely degraded. Still not enough to justify invading a sovereign nation that had not attacked us. Try again.....

Most of the repubs don't believe this anymore (thankfully) but they do try to justify the war with some bullcrap excuses.
Republicans support anything the president does, except for the few moral ones.

To be honest here, Osama had something to do with 911; and where was he when that happened? Was he in Iraq? There are terrorists in Iraq AND Iran AND Afghanistan (and probably here, too). So where were we to begin? That whole area's been nothing but trouble anyway. And YES, I do believe Saddam had and HAS WMD. He used them all the time to kill thousands of people! Did he all of a sudden get rid of them? Look around you; the people of this earth are slowly killing ourselves.

500 artillery shells filled with poison gas were located in Iraq. Not well reported but still there. And what about those missiles that were found that were supposedly all destroyed by UN mandate?
I don't recall anyone saying that there was a direct link - perhaps your imagination is over active.

No Republican ever believed Iraq had something to do with 9/11 bonehead! And we never knew weather Saddam had WMD's because he broke every resolution the U.N. Handed him by shooting missiles at our aircraft and thumbimg his nose at us and kicking the U.N. Inpectors out there MENSA member!

No one thinks that the war in Iraq has anything to do with 9/11. I do believe there are weapons of mass destruction there. Thankfully we got the biggest one...SADDAM

He had a terrorist training camp at salman-pak, where he had a 727 airliner, next to barracks and shooting ranges, but no runway. defectors from the facility say it was used to train hijackers, and that the last "class" to go through were non-iraqi arabs. he did have a history of paying off families of suicide bombers, and harbored the Abu Nidal terror organization.
