I have been trying several things to get rid of my acne, but they just are not working out. What is the best way to get rid of it and how long should I expect it to take?

Everbody is different. I have problems with acne too. Everyone says that ProActiv is soooo good, well it made my acne worse. I think the best thing to do is not to use alot of harsh acne stuff on your face. If you're a teenager, then you're prolly not gonna get rid of it. It's part of being a teenager. I use Noxzema and put it on my face like a mask and leave it on there for about 30 minutes. It seems to help a little bit, but I've tried so many products, and wasted so much money, it really wasn't worth it. I even went to the Dermatologist and got prescriptions. But they didn't work. There is Accutane. Accutane is a prescription that is really really strong, and it gets rid of acne totally. But there are alot of side effects and risks. That's why I didn't take it.

Go to your doctor, it doesn't have to be a dermatologist (they are more expensive). They have drugs you can try that you can't get over the counter and they are more effective. make sure you follow the directions esp if you get Retin-A or Differen, some of these strong Tretinoin based medicines because they cause your skin to become very sensitive to sunlight and chemicals. A good thing to try is topical clindamycin in conjunction w/Differin or Retin-A. be prepared because the Rein-A and Differin take up to six weeks to be working right. I used RetinA for years but finally switched to Differen which for me works way better because it doesn't irritate my skin as badly so I can actually use it every day instead of every 2 or 3 days. The very first itme I used RetinA, with in 2 or 3 days I felt like my face was sleeping on a sandpaper covered pillow-case. Just a warning! Like I said you need to follow the directions for these meds, they are strong. If those don't work and you have cystic scarring type acne, they can try oral antibiotics in conjunction or even the topical retinoid which is heavily monitored.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

Don't worry you are not the only one who has acne problems. I have a very small acne problem now because i fought back early. The first thing that you need to do it to go to a dematologist that you feel comfertable with and talk to him/ her about your problem. Also talk to them about birth control pills, even though it works for many people, it may not work for all. I was prescribed to use a certain facial wash, which i dont know what it is called, and the facial wash that i use clears all of the oil and dirt off of my face. Facial wash and a pill would be the best solutions from me, but also ask your doctor first before you try anything. :) Hope this helped

Okay...trust me I'm a teen and I have been suffering with acne since I was in 5th grade (i'm now a junior in high school) and my skin was really really bad until I found a great regiment that worked for me:
morning: wash my face with a cleanser that exfoliates,
then i apply a 2.5 benzoyl peroxide gel
and then i let it dry and apply moisturizer (oil free with sunscreen)

and at night:
i wash my face with a cleanser that exfoliates
then i apply differing gel
and then i apply on the spot acne treatmen (10 percent is fine)
and then i let dry and go to bed

i exfoliate intensivly regularly and i always try to make my skin soft and supple (never dry cuz then it causes more acne!!) so def. moisturize!!!!!!!!!! its very important

u should expect 2 c results in 8 weeks and never acne again in about 5 months...it seems like a long time but it works!! i dont have asingle zit and i usually use to wake up with 10 whiteheads EACHMORNING

There is this stuff called Glycolic Acid. It works amazingly by dissolving the blackheads and gunk in your skin. I tried proactiv but it made it work but this stuff totally cleared it up. Read a book called the acne cure, i do not know the author so type it in on GOogle.

Please try AcneFree or Proactive. Let it take 2-3 weeks.
I use both myself. I find that proactive works the best but when I can't afford Proactive I switch to Acnefree. Which works just as great as Proactive! Love the skin your in. Talk to a specialist if need be. Life large....Feel beautiful again...
