Of all the shootings, and unreported suicides (to the Media), to avoid copycats.... Why isnt this issue a priority, I mean, it should definitely take precedence over homosexual marriages, dont you think?

RIGHT ON!! My kids deal with a bit of that even thought we are in a suburban, low-crime area. Kids can be crazy and there needs to be better protection and hard-core punishment for those who bring violence into the schools. But our politicians need 'hot topics' to get them going! Votes folks!

The problem you describe can't be fixed by Politicians. It has to be solved on sight. That being change has to start at the school. Teachers, parents, and students must join together and provide a United front. Most bullies only Bully because there at an advantage usually either in Numbers or by size. Take there advantage away and most will cower or fade back into oblivion.

Some kids are never going to act decent because they aren't taught to at home. Or they have parents who are also bullies. If the school is unable to control the kids who constantly bully other kids, and the parents won't cooperate, I think it's time to call in the police. Not for the bully but for one of the bully's parents. I think a lot of these kids would straighten up fast if their parents had an incentive to control them.

It's not up to our politicians to solve bullying in school. It's up to teachers and parents to open their eyes and listen more.

I'm sick of people leaning on politicians (people they don't know enough to trust) to babysit. Gather your own kids, give them lessons in self-defense, and listen to how their school day went. ASK how other kids are treating them.

Be around more instead of working all the time, so you can see how their actually doing, and that they may be a bully or bullying some kid.

Politicians will never replace decent parental supervision and proper monitoring by adult leaders in school.

As for homosexual marriages, that actually IS a legal matter that calls for official gov't and legal avenues to affect positive change.

Maybe parents need to do a better job raising their kids. Dont spoil the little brats and give them everything they want then they wont turn into a bully. If your kid is being bullied tell him to grow a backbone and stand up for himself.

Despite the fact that bullying occurs all over the country, it must be addressed locally. Local school boards have to step up to the plate. Unfortunately, I'm not holding my breath waiting for them.

When will the parents of these bullies step in and start parenting and disciplining their children? This isn't a governmental issue, its a family issue.

But I agree that it is a MUCH more important topic then homosexual marriages.

Probably never. No corporations are going to give them money to address it and it's not really an issue that divides people.

There is a differene between VIOLENCE and bullying. Violence should be stopped, there is no reason for that. Bullying...although its a shame, and it can be traumatic for kids...it is needed. It is part of the socialization process. Little Johnny can not be sheltered and protected all of his life. That only hurts him in the end.
