While Texas Chainsaw Massacre has it's charm, there's nothing for good old-fashioned screams like the Halloween movies. Or if you're looking for a laugh with your scream, then the classic Nightmare on Elm Street series of movies. If you're looking for just outright down and out fright-fests, than you can't beat Saw 1 to 3, or Hostel (which has a part 2 coming out soon next year). Unfortunately, horror just doesn't pack the punch that it used to, as the imaginations of today's generation has been so flooded with horror that there's not much they haven't seen.

The Nightmare before Christmas.

Of the ones you listed, I suppose The Exorcist would be it.
