car powers up with all lights including theft system but will not turn over it makes the sound of a dead battery click but the battery is charged and terminals are clean (I think that it is the theft system as I have had a problem with this before) I took it in to the dealership and had to pay $200 to have it fixed and all they said that it was a loose cable which was BS so I need to find out how to bypass this system or at least know how to start it if this problem arises again............. if not please come steal my car

sound like your starter and flywheel not engage when it happen again this is a mechanic trick and i am one of them turn your crank shaft a couple of turn than try to start again see if it turn over if it does you have a big problem that mean your flywheel teeth's are broken, your car will start once in a while you will have the same problem you having right now when it happen just keep turning the crankshaft.before you do all these make sure you battery and all cable in good shape.

When you get the "click click" thing, you've either got a dead battery, or a dead starter, or bad wiring. You had the bad wiring.

$200 is about the minimum you can spend for a dealer repair - a new starter would've added at least $200 to the tab.

To "bypass the system" you have 2 things to bypass. You have to get tons of raw battery juice to the starter (that's the big red wire that bolts to one end), plus more 12 volt to the solonoid (that's the little red wire). If you've got enough juice to the big red wire, then you'd simply energize the stud where that little wire hooks in.

I don't think you'll have this problem again. If you do, take it back to the dealer, and if they're somewhat honest they'll give you some credit when they nail you for a new starter or new battery.

I'm still wondering if you've got a short in that battery........
