If you are asking from the standpoint of someone who once lived in Michigan and is now living in Florida, then I can answer based on my experience of once living in Michigan and now living in New York.
1) When I was growing up in Michigan I hated it and couldn't wait to get out.
2) I got out, and guess what? I miss Michigan. A lot.
Best guess, sometimes what we give up, run away from, (or if taken away from if you've moved with family & had no choice in the matter) then those things we always took for granted are now magnified through those lenses of remembrance. You suddenly find yourself remembering your favorite things about Michigan, things that you never really thought of as favorites, you just did them at the time. Then you start comparing those things to what you have now in your new home. They never measure up. Memories are hard to beat. Just about impossible in fact.
Solution? The only real solution is to take what you have now and try to make new memories, try to find new favorite things. It is hard, believe me I know, but it isn't impossible. These things will not ever replace or surpass the memories you already possess, they'll just add to the flavor of your life.
I've been living on Long Island for almost 10 years now, and yes, given the chance I will gladly return to my home state. But until that happens, I make the most of each day that I do have. With my family, and my new friends. (don't get me started on how hard that was to do, to make new friends--it almost felt like I was betraying my old friends but then I realized that I was too miserable without friends to help me get through my days here) (Again, just because I have new friends does not mean my old ones are gone or that our relationships are gone, if anything it makes me value their friendships all the more.)
Go outside, look at the sky above you, the earth below your feet, and at the horizon stretching away from you. It's not Michigan, but it can be lived in and yes, actually enjoyed in some way, shape, or form, until you either return to Michigan or find another place in the world where you're "home".
Don't look at it as, "In Michigan we did it this way, or they had this kind of food/drink/entertainment in Michigan." Look at it as a challenge to find the things that will make you happy there in Florida, don't look for what isn't there, look for what IS there... Even if it is just as I am biding my time until I return to Michigan. I may be biding my time, but I'm enjoying my time anyway. No sense being miserable until I can go home, that's just no fun.
Best of luck to you.

For the record I'm from Florida and i now live in Indiana, the reason is because i hate Florida because they are a bunch of stupid idiot who can't find their butts with both hands and a map and their school system sucks, so any state that isn't Florida is still a step up from that mud hole and maybe because Michigan isn't overflowing with illegal Cubans and pueoricans

Okay, I can understand the Florida thing cuz there are som many freakin' old people and its SO hot down there. Heat can actually make a person angry.
But the Michigan thing is a little weird, because OHIO ROCKS!!! Go Bucks we're number 1! We're Number 1! Oh, and also WE ARE NUMBER 1!!!!!!!

Because Florida is not all it's cracked up to be. Nice place to live, bad place to vacation. It's ugly and flat. I come from Connecticut, and I miss it so much. It is so beautiful. I want to move back after I finish college. Florida sux.

maybe it's the climate, it could be that you don't like humid or hot climates, maybe you prefer cold and windy climates. it could also be the hospitality of the neighborhood in which you live in. maybe you think florida people are rednecks or are just plain unfriendly and michigan people are friendlier? it could also be the environment you are living in. maybe you think florida doesn't have many scenic views like michigan? it really is a personal issue.
