The eye of a hurricane is in the middle. Get four people to run in a swimming pool circle, then go in the middle of the pool and it will be calmer.

Hurricanes have an 'eye' or calm spot in the center. In order to be in the eye of the storm you will have gone through the worst part of it. Once the eye passes you will have to go through the hurricane again.

The eye is the center of the storm. To judge the intensity of the hurricane you would measure the barometric pressure in the eye. The lower the pressure, the worse the storm.

Yes. The structure of the hurricane has increasingly stronger winds towards the centre, but actually IN the centre, hurricanes may have an 'eye' where winds are calm. Don't be fooled by them thinking the storm is over, it's only half-way.

In what is called the eye of the hurricane, the "Weather" is such that birds and butterflies can fly around with impunity. The section of the storm which hits after the eye is usually worse.

That's what I hear. If the "eye" passes over you, then you get the brunt of the leading edge, with 100 MPH winds from the east, then after the eye passes, you get pounded by 100 MPH winds from the west.

Hi. Yes, and it's a very eerie feeling. The rear eye-wall is always a surprise because it hits suddenly.
