If I had to pick up a rookie in the FA market (I'm assuming Bargnani and Morrison are gone), I would take a look at Shelden Williams of Atlanta. Marvin Williams, last year #2 pick and projected starter, broke his wrist in a freak accident and is expected to be out 6-8 weeks, the same injury Speedy Claxton suffer earlier this preseason. The Hawks want to keep Childress on the bench so the option left is Williams. Williams should be a good source for points and rebound, but might not get good minutes with a deep Hawks team. Even though he's not going to make an impact just yet, I'm not counting this rookie out just yet.
I'd also take a look at Jordan Farmar of the Lakers. He has impress the coaching staff with his play and could userp Smush Parker if he doesn't play well. Although Phil Jackson has a history of not giving good minutes to rookies, Farmar is smart on the court and could contribute immedietly on a semi-rebuilding Lakers team.
If I pick for Rookie of the Year, it would be Adam Morrison. He has no competition to userp him in the lineup and he's going to get his minutes on a non-contending team, which lead to big stats.

I really don't think Tyrus Thomas will be a huge fantasy factor this year. There's simply too much competition for miniutes in Chicago in the forward spots (Nocioni, Deng, PJ Brown, Ben Wallace, Sweetney) for him to play enough.
Adam Morrison is probably the safest bet as he'll play heavy minutes and get plenty of shots right off the bat. The downside is he doesn't seem to contribute a whole lot of stats other than scoring which really limits his fantasy value.
Other than that, I'd keep my eye on Shelden Williams and Randy Foye.

Randy Foye.
Im not just saying that because I am a Timberwolves fan, but he won the MVP of the T-Wolves summer league team and has looked very good in preseason. I wouldnt take any rookie very high though because you never know what exactly you are going to get from them. If any rookie though I think Randy Foye would be a smart choice.

I go with Tyrus Thomas. He'll put up decent scoring numbers and he'll get a lot of rebounds. Plus, he may get a block or two. He's got an advantage on other rookies, having the ability to get rebounds and block shots

LaMarcus Aldridge receives pleanty of PT this year. he's a secure %.. So is Jordan Farmer. he receives a lot of courtroom time. yet Tyrus Thomas has the flair to be more effective valuble than Farmer. i'd take a chance on him seeing as Farmer will not help you that a lot except you're determined for a level.

I think you should choose Randy Foye b-cuz he did real good in the preseason, and when KG gets injured,he'll most likely be the one to score 20
