He** no. This country was founded on bucking authority when authority was wrong....and contrary to the John Mellancamp song, Authority does not always win...but it does win if we all sit around like complacent sheep.

You must stand for what is right, but that does not mean act recklessly. You can still respect the Authority you feel you must disobey. You might want to check out a man named Ghandi. He and another man named King espoused a theory called "Civil Disobedience".

Very smart people, those two.....

If you think something is wrong , Stand up and say so , Evil goes on if no one questions authority. If a teacher or parent told you it is ok to cheat or lie would that make it right? Follow your insticts always question authority . who says they know better than yourself.

One should always respect authority. That does not mean that one must always obey authority: it is possible to simultaneously have the utmost respect for authority while refusing to submit to it. Martin Luther King, Jr. never flagged in his respect for the authorities that were over him, and when he disagreed, he was willing to bear the consequences for that disagreement. Standing up for what you believe is right is not inherently opposed to respecting authority.

I think you should do what you feel is right, even if that means going against authority. I do it all the time.

You need to understand the law is there for a reason. If you want to stand up for something that u believe to be an injustice, then do it within the boundaries of the law.

If they have authority over you.... definitly.

if what they are asking me to do.... is against the law... I'd respect it and then question it with a higher authority.

I think standing up for what's right makes more sense than "follow the leader". Just because the man in charge jumps off a cliff doesn't make it right.

Yes. There is always a better way of doing things. Don't disrespect, change it so there would not have to be any. Sometimes this seems impossible but trust me; if you organize and are really dedicated to your cause you will solve the problem. This is a much more productive solution than causing more unrest.

Stand up for what is right. "Just following orders" .. doesn't hold up in a court of law. Do the right thing. Good Luck ! :)
