Well first of all u shd go to Home page of ur account and then edit profile... then u can open another window if u use IE and another tab if ur using Firefox....there are lots of sites where they have ready made backgrounds though i like this site

choose a back ground..copy its code and paste it in About me..in my profile section... and then save changes...and it is done...
