Chocolate or vanila?

All of the above (except 'Mac is not user friendly' - give me a break) is true and good info.

It depends what you want to do and how and who with etc etc.

If money is an issue then not Apple. Big features and quality and integrated software makes them very expensive - not bad value but lots of money.

Use both!! Macs can run osx and windows. Once you've spent some time using osx you will soon realise that you will no longer want or need to run windows.

Most of the negative things i hear about macs are just myths said by people who have no experience of using them. There is a huge amount of amazing software for macs, and they can open all your pics, videos, music, ms office docs etc the same as windows can.

In the uk macbooks are cheaper than a lower spec dell laptop. If you buy a mac, you're basically getting a mac and a pc for your money.
I switched to macs after using pc's for 10 years and i can't think of 1 reason to ever go back. Everything is better on a mac.

Get a Mac. Macs are easier to use and maintain, as well as more stable, and they don't have the problems with viruses and spyware that Windows boxes do. This is largely thanks to a better security model (the OS is based on BSD Unix, known for its stability and security). Several other answerers have said that there isn't much Mac software out there, but that's simply not true. Besides, if you need a particular program that only exists for one OS, it is easier to run Windows software on a Mac than to do the reverse.

Since a Macbook costs less than a comparable Dell, and the Macbook can run OS X or Windows* by dual booting or run both OS X !and! Windows* using Parallels, there's no reason to get a PC. The Macbook can do it all!

* If you run Windows on your Macbook, be sure to install antivirus and antispyware software! Only OS X is secure. Windows running on a Mac is just as insecure as on any PC.

Go mac because it has a more more user friendly OS, unrivaled and seamless software, amazing design (think ipod), and all for a great price. Now you can also download an application called boot camp for when you need to run those windows only apps. If you are looking for a laptop i would recommend the Macbook, while if you are looking for a desktop, the 20' imac is a bargain.

Macs. Windows has been deemed obsolete. Mac will be upgraded yet, Windows will perish under maximum deletion. Delete. Macs can run both Windows and OS X. This is the age of Mac.

Windows based computer are cheaper, more powerful, and all around more compatible. For a macbook you pay 1100 dollars for 512 ram and a 60 gig hard drive, theres no dvd burner. Look for a PC with those specs and its around 700 dollars. I also have to say the standard macbook dosent use 64 bit processors. Which is a huge problem if you want to keep it for more then a year.

Depends on what you need to do.

Windows PC's have more choice in programs and tend to be cheaper for equivalent systems. Mac is supposed to have better "visual editing" capabilities.

Personally, if I have a program for the job, I prefer my old IBM Mini-mainframe running UNIX System V! No bells and whistles, just solid performance without crashes!!

windows, mac is not user friendly and many softwares run easily with windows rather than mac. Mac books are even costly than that of windows.
