I don't understand black people and yes, I am black. They always make fun of white people and yet they want all their features. Black girls always talk about how they wish they had long straight hair, colorful eyes and light skin. If a black person has one percent of white in them they always brag about it. I hear them say stuff like, "she is so pretty. she looks white." I don't get it. They always make fun of white girls YET they want to be them. The same applies to black men they always make fun of white men and white women YET they always trying to date a white woman and date a woman who is practically white. I don't hate black people but really, where is the pride? From observation, I think blacks don't have too much pride. Not be mean but the i know plenty light-skinned blacks who they has pretty merely because they are part white. What does "african lookin' mothasucker" mean and why is an insult?

Thank you! I completely agree. More people should stop fronting and just be themselves. I'm an interracial dater and I hate it when black guys have to point out that fact I don't date them. If you had pride in yourself as a black person you celebrate that fact that you've broken boundaries and not be so close-minded. Thanks for letting me vent!!

It may be just the people you know, or maybe it's a generational thing.

I'm going to assume that you're young, either a teenager or young adult. I'm pretty sure that not all Black Americans act like the people you know. In fact, I hear there are Black people who are afraid to look or act white!

I'm Black myself. I'm nearly 50, and I grew up in the Black is Beautiful era, when it was just starting out.

Maybe these things come and go in cycles. Hold on to your own self-love and self-respect, and have some patience for these people. Hopefully you will, and they will, appreciate more and more what is beautiful about Black.

(BTW, I'm not against interracial dating, but if too many people don't want to date their own kind, something's wrong.)

We have a long way to go. Funny you didn't men tion other cultures that associate blond hair and blue eyes as attractive. It as a part of the community that is still a big topic. Trust me, the biggist problem now is not how dark you are it's whether you'll give it up without a rubber.
