The maximum you wrote up there, 25.6% and I think it's more cause almost half of the price on the gallon of gas goes to the Government...

It is 18.4 but not percent. It is 18.4 cents per gallon. That is about the 9.95% that you list above. I don't know if this was a trick question or if it is just a coincidence that there is a percent that looks like the cents per gallon.

And of course those greedy states add their own tax on every gallon too.

I can tell you in actual CENTS because it varies state by state.. In California, the Government takes $.60 a gallon... in New YOrk, $.62 cents.. in Arizona, $.37 cents.. Thus, it depends on the state but it is a SIGNIFICANT amount that they get.. into the billions and billions of dollars.. In comparison.. the oil companies get as profit, $.10 a gallon

None of the above - it is a 18.4 cents per gallon, not a % of the price.
