Absolutely! Kids are mouthy, disrespectful and just general pains in the a-s-s compared to when I was little. If I acted half as bad as some of these kids do nowadays, my mom would have given me an old fashioned beating. Now you see kids throwing temper tantrums in public and their parents just seem to either ignore it, or think it's cute. AND they think everyone should think their children are just sooooo very special and frickin' geniuses, when all they really are obnoxious brats!
Thank God I had my tubes tied!

If I talked to my parents or elders the way some of these kids do now a days I'd still have a sore butt and mouth. To this day we do not cuss in front of my mom or my dad will have our head. And my parents are in their 70's and I'm 40. I think the kids today have less respect and need a good spanking when they are young.

Oh for sure. Kids aren't disciplined like they used to be, therefore they don't HAVE to show respect to anyone. What's more, when there are parents that are willing to discipline their kids they have to go to court over it.
This is what happens when we let the government raise our children. Funny that they think their way is so much better.

Lord yes! My friend lets her 6 year old daughter smart mouth her, scream at her, manipulate her, and break stuff all the time. Let me tell you what...I am so thankful that my kids don't act like that! If they did though, you bet that I'd pop 'em right in the mouth. It's rediculous. The only people to blame are the parents and this no whipping believing society.

When we were young, less parents were getting divorced and people didn't use day care much. Kids do what they learn.

Yes, I do. It's a good thing I don't have children, because if I did, they would get their butt's whipped. I have several cousins that let their kids get away with hitting them and smart mouthing them. I have to hold myself to keep from getting them.

Absolutely. My mother would slap me from here onto the other side of the wall where I'd have to be peeled off if I ever said things to her that I hear kids saying nowadays! Sad state it is ... (sigh).
