Of course they have a 4th of July, but it's not a holiday for them like it is for Americans. It's just a regular day for them, but for us it is our Independence Day.

Yes, they have a 4th of July. They don't skip from the 3rd to the 5th! Do they celebrate America's Independence Day? No, not really.

Yep - did a teacher ask you this trick question? July will always have a 4th - it just depends if the country celebrates it as a national holiday.

While they don't have and Independence Day, many UK territories celebrate the day. When my father in law was stationed in Scotland, the locals celebrated with the Americans like it was one of their holidays (they hated the English). I've heard the same about some of the Irish (northern Ireland is still a territory as well).

In the course of England's long history, they have never been colonized by any country, They have always been free. So they don't have an Independence Day to celebrate.

Well, they don't skip from the 3rd of July to the 5th!

If you mean, do they have an independence day, I don't think so, but I could be wrong.

Why should england celebrate a defeat?
(you're quite wrong monofinit, england was colonised in 1066 by the Norman French. They are still here.)
