The very beginning of mankind. Before man started to ruin the earth. But I wouldn't want it if I didn't have the knowledge and wisdom to know what to do.
Fun time might be the 20's or 50's.
The more I think about it--I would like to visit many times in history--just not sure I would want to stay in the past.
Too bad you didn't say what you would pick. I like the question, I would have like to see your answer too.

I have several time periods I would like to visit.

One is the Roaring 20's (1920s) the time of the Flapper. I love the clothing, the music, the art, the zest for life (just after WW1 ended), and technology was not such a big part of life as it is today.

The other time period I would like to go to is more of a place - Languedoc in SE France in the late 1100s - before the Albigensian crusade started in 1209. It was an enlightened time & place before the Catholic church destroyed it.

As an observer, I would like to go back to the three years of Christ's ministry, including the crucifixion and the resurrection.

Chances are that not many would believe me when I returned to the present, but it would be worth it anyway, simply for the experience and the abiity to offer confirming testimony about the written records. For example, by writing an accurate record with period materials, hiding it in a specific location only I could find when back in the present, that would lay out where the archeological confirmations are, etc., that would give accurate descriptions of the Apostles, Mary, Joseph, etc.

Of course that kind of knowledge would probably get me assasinated anyway because it would end religious arguments about the true doctrines once and for all.

But it would still be worth it.

Actually, I would like to go back to the time I was conceived, except I would know everything that I know now. I would make very different choices if I knew then what I know today.
As for a period in history, I'd like to go back to a simplier time-one without cars and technology.

I think I would like to go back to the end of the Roman Empire. Have you ever wondered what life would be like if the Roman's never fell? Maybe with my knowledge of what is to come, I could stop the regection of everything Roman, so we wouldn't regress after going so far. That, and I would love to see how the cultures native to Great Britain reacted to the invasion of the Roman culture. It's the anthropologist in me.
