In Fairbanks, AK the total hours of daylight depend on the time of year. On winter solstice, there is around 3 hours of daylight and on summer solstice, there is around 21 hours of daylight during a given day.

For instance, this year on the summer solstice (6/21/06), the sun set at 12:47 AM and then rose at 2:58 AM on the same day.

This year on the winter soltice (12/22/06), the sun will rise at 10:59 AM and set at 2:41 PM on the same day (approx).
