When you mean going around in circles, what frantically? I had a danioe who we called "bendy" because he was one of our deformed babies we raised, he was like a cork when he swam around, but lived to a good age. You can't stop a fish from swimming the way they do, fish need to swim to breath, so he's other formed a way of swimming to suit him, or he has a deformancy, none the less, he'll probably be fine and live a normal life but if he didnt swim like that to start with, there's probably a problem and he may end up dying. Sorry

I have two eletric yellows that do that all the time. Is he chasing another fish or just going around in circles alone. He might just be bored. Go over and gently tap on the tank NOT HARD just enough to get his attention, sometimes that works with mine.

Politely pull him aside and try to talk to him. Ask him nicely to please stop that. And, if he refuses, tell him you're going to take away the filter for a week. You know, to punish the little brat for not listening. Or put him in the corner. Or, well, I don't know. I ran out. If push comes to shove, I suppose you can just sprinkle the food from the left of the tank to the right. So he swims in a straight line. Ok? Ok.

It is good your fish is swimming and active, but if it is swimming franctically around it may be stressed, try testing your water and putting plants in (if you haven't already).
