I was a nervous wreck when I went to my now in-laws house for the first time. My father-in-law scared the crap out of me for years, he always came across as being a tough guy. that made me nervous and he knew it. His son and I have been married 27 years ,and he now TRIES to scare the crap out of me, and I now just give him a kiss on the cheek and tell him nice try. No matter how long you will be involved with his family, whether you being nervous, or someone making you that way, there will be a day when the shift goes from intent to tease. Just telling you to relax won't come from me, because I couldn't relax. Things will be fine, and just remember, at some point in their life, they too, had the other family to go meet when they were dating. Go have fun!

I'm gonna say DO IT. I really don't think from what you said, that you are gonna get over being nervous. Just keep in mind these are NOT the same people, and may be completly opposite from the others. Go in with a no fear attitude and make the best impression you can, if you try to be fake with them, then you always have to act that way while around them. Bad idea, lol. I know you say Be Yourself is harder than it seems, but why be any other way?? If they don't like you, tough! Dont be fake......and good luck, you'll do just fine!

I say go for it. You're going to be nervous if you do it now, or if you wait, so you may as well just get it over with now and save yourself the stress.
Don't worry about your ex-boyfriends mum not liking you. She may have just been one of those types that wouldn't like anyone her son brought home.
Just relax and have a good time.

Go for it why wait? Find out now you may be happy you did. At least you and her will know if you like each other or not. I know your nervous and how that feels but I found out I feel better getting something done and over with when I feel that way and not going on wondering.

Go for it and just be yourself! You can't make people like you, especially a bf's mom. The only thing that matters is that he loves you! Hope things go well for the two of you. God bless you both :0)

If that is the way you feel, you should ask your boyfriend if you might put off meeting his parents for a bit. Perhaps in a while you will feel more secure. I wish you the best.

Oh, come on. Go for it, have some confidence in yourself. If he likes you, she probably will too. Compliment her and her home, and get in good with Daddy, too.

just be yourself, honey, that's the only way to be...if you are uncomfortable, wait a while....there doesn't appear to be a rush here.
