We dont really hate americans (I assume you are meaning the USA not everyone from the entire continent both north and south), but we do hate their inability to accept that some people dont want to life like them, their government, their insistence of trying to govern the entire world whether its asked for or not, and their ask questions later policy that seems to govern all areas of life. What also p*sses us off is the fact that sadly despite our entire population saying otherwise our government seems all too happy to to jump right in after you.
Since the start of the 'war on terror' in Afghanistan no body has actually benefited, the Afghans haven't (they are now even more impoverished than before and yet the Taliban still survive and are actually starting to increase in numbers), more heroin, opium, and morphine is being produce there than before the invasion.
Al Queida still exists, has caused further deaths, attacks on other countries and is now better structured and hader to find, infiltrate and disrupt than ever before.
Iraq is well and truely f*cked with people dieing everyday, the local population have gone from welcoming us, to tolerating us to hating us. Least we forget that the wholoe reason we went to war was based on a false assumption. I'm not saying that Saddam should have been left alone but, all that appears to have happened is the whole middle east has destablised, and that it has created a reason for extreamists to not only state as to thier reasons but as an actual recruitment policy.
Isreal has been basically performing genocide while their biggest allies doesn't say squat as its too busy trying to get the world to invade North Korea for testing nuclear weapons. Of which the USA has more than anyone.
Sadly this looks likely to remain the case until the US is no longer the most powerful counrty in the world. All we can do is hope that when another counrty takes up the title they will try a different approach, which since it will be communist China (dont know how much you know about them but trust me within a decade they'll be in charge) they probably will.

Hey man, I'm French, but live in London. I think they hate (it's a strong word) them more in France than in England. There again, we don't HATE the people, I have American friends and Mexican friends as well as English friends and I'm French ! It's more that we don't like the governments behind the countries. Fore example the Bush administration is "hated" around most of the world, but most people don't hate American citizens. My point of view anyway. Satisfied ? Dude, if you're in Mexico city, try the "taco del perro", they are the cheapest tacos in Mexico.

I'm English and I don't hate Americans. I don't understand them for not taking football seriously and seeming to take an imperial view of the world but I can't hate them as a nation or a people. I'm sure there are good and bad people everywhere.
Greetings from Nottingham, England :)

I think us english hate the image of americans that has been bombarding us from their lowest level media. Most hollywood films enforce the part that americans rule the world and the rest of us just hide in their shadows.
most of the real americans I have met seem to be descent , good people and not at all like what we see on programs like cops.

It is my experience that Americans think that the USA is TopDog in the world.
This gives them the confidence to bully anybody at anytime.
Money talks, yes -- but there are other things in life: kindness, ethics, beauty, history, things which admittedly require a culture to have a stable economy, but are still very important.
For Americans, greed is good.

I'm pretty sure most English don't hate Americans - but speaking as a Scot, you guys could maybe use a quick geography lesson to learn that Scotland is not actually a small county in England, and that also, there is no such thing as a "British Accent". Having said that, it is cheering to know that most of you Americans claim affiliation to the Celts, whether Irish or Scots and nobody ever wants to say their family were originally English!

I don't hate the Americans but I do think that they are too gun-ho.Take the war in Iraq,it seems that they've killed more of our British squadies than anyone else over there.Surely they should know the difference between allied troops and the enemy.
It's bad enough having our troops being killed by the Iraquies but you don't expect them to be killed as often as they are by so called friendly fire.
