I couldn't agree with you more. This country is getting more and more politically correct. People don't want to seem "insensitive" but I think it is stupid to be afraid to point out an observation if it is true.
I make a lot of racial jokes but I don't consider it racist, seeing as I tell them all to my racially diverse group of friends......but someone passing by will hear me and get all offended, saying I shouldn't "stereotype." Whatever.
If you haven't already, you should check out some of George Carlin's standup cause the guy is great and says whatever he wants. He makes so many true points about PC and euphemisms.

It all went wrong when someone with not a lot to do started to check everything out. We should be allowed to speak as we always did. No doubt there are some who would be as offensive as they always were but they could be ignored as they always were. I think people have become too sensitive and things have become laughable as a result. For instance some people are immediately insulted if the colour of their skin is mentioned. Why?. I am white and I couldn't care less if someone says I am white because I am white for God's sake...so what. As a matter of fact I could take offence because if I put a white paper next to my skin I am nothing like white...more a pinkish shell colour. Let's hope the PC police don't get on to that one. Nor do I want to be told I cannot say Snow White...nor sing White Christmas as some of my fellow white people will be offended. Get a life and cop on. And this thing about actor and actress. I believe they are all actors now. And chairman is now chairperson . I am afraid I would be banished from the board if I wrote down what I think about PC. Stop the world I want to get off.

I'd like to think that humanity is maturing a little bit, but that is probably just wishful thinking. I think after 9/11, people just realized we are all vulnerable no matter how safe we think we are, and this is a huge world, so why be offensive? Does it gain anyone anything to be puposefully offensive? I still believe in freedom of speech, but there is also such thing as responsibility.

Well, back in the 60's...everyone was all "Lovey Dovey" and crap. Basically, the opposite of reality. This caused a generation of distorted thinkers. Unfortunately now, we are dealing with the same hippie protestors in regards to PC.
I say, screw being PC! Just say what is on your mind!

It's alright having political correctness, but when coupled with immorality and lawlessness that's when trouble starts.
Freedom of speech - great. Lack of discipline PLUS freedom of speech = anarchy.

Children can no longer sing baa baa black sheep anymore.I've heard that it's now baa baa blue sheep.
I don't know about anyone else but I've never seen a blue sheep.
Surely if can't call anything black anymore then to be really pc white also will have to banished as a colour.

Nobody really cares about political correctness unless it's going to profit them in some way. When you're talking to someone and you say "you people", who the hell cares if they're talking about your race? That's it, NOBODY (unless they think they can sue over it) I'm so sick of PC. I don't care if someone calls me a cracker, white trash, whitey, or any of that other BS, 'cause to be honest, I've got plenty of names for them too.
If I want to say something, I'm going to say it. Damn to anyone if they get offended. Their sensitivity is not my problem. If I can take it, other people can take it too.
We've forgotten the age old... Sticks and stones way of life. That, in my opinion is where it all went wrong.
Thanks for the rant.

Excellent point!!!! Yeah, the PC has got to go. Everyone is so easily offended and no matter what you say or do, someone has to pull a race card. It's BS!
