It will take about 4 hours. If you get stuck behind some slow moving tourists - it might take 5. If you drive without stopping and taking in any sights you can do it in 3.
DO NOT SPEED - NOT EVEN 5MPH OVER THE LIMIT - THERE ARE SPEED TRAPS EVERYWHERE ! ! !
Top off your tank before you leave Miami - gas is outrageously priced in Key West.

Depends totally on the traffic. No traffic, 6 am on a weekday: 3 hrs. from South Dade. Add a half hour from downtown Miami.
Friday afternoon before a holiday: 6 hrs. Boat trailer overturns on 7 mile bridge? Bring a cooler with drinks.

It can take, 3 to 4 hrs, traffic. Just getting out of Miami, than its one lane once you get to the road that will take you to Keys. But when you get to it, great driving through all small towns. Real narrow passage way, love Marathon.

Yep consider Paul ok, yet once you're north of Miami, it may take an hour on my own to get by busy Miami on suitable of the three one million/2 h stress. We usually fly down recently and it takes approximately 30 min.

It's about a 4 hour drive if you obey the speed limit, which is very advisable once you enter the Keys. There are highway patrolmen everywhere that love to give tickets for speeding.
