Yes, hate is a strong word, but I also think it totally applies to some people. Do we hate child molesters, serial killers, wife beaters, animal abusers, etc? Yes, I know I do, and I don't think it's too strong of a word when it comes to people like that.

Hate is just a part of life.

Well, I can honestly say that I don't hate anything because hate really is such a strong word... I'll say dislike, loath, or something close to that, but I don't like using the word hate...

I wish I had a stronger word than hate. I hate you and everything that you stand for. I hate you because you can't spell and you can't punctuate and you're probably 14 years old with light brown hair with blonde streaks and you think this one guy in church is kinda cute, well at least cuter than the last guy in church that you made out with and maybe went a little further with (****). And you think you're pretty damn cool because your daddy and mommy did something bad to traumatize you (insert whatever bad thing they did here) and now you'll never be able to focus or live a real life because of all your pain.....so you'll grow old in a double wide trailer with some guy who has an attitude problem and have about 2 and 1/2 kids....two girls and one boy.. who'll be half gay until he turns 35 and discovers himself. I HATE YOU!

Your absolutely right, hate is such a strong word and should never be used unless you are absolutely certain of your feelings, its too bigger a word for me to ever use.

My mum used to tell my that and for the most part she was right. I disliked things and used the word hate but there are things (and people) that I really do hate. With a passion!!

well, hate is a really strong word! u could say "i hate" when u are saying something like "i hate when i have to clean!" but it is much to strong to use on a person. Hate to a person is a word of the devil.

Yes, it's a strong word, but to just dislike something is a bit wet.
e.g. "I really dislike George W Bush for the way he's f*cked up the planet" is no where near as effective as saying "I really hate George W Bush".
I guess it's to do with how passionately you disagree with someone/something.
Have another hug!

It is possible to hate, although it is a strong word and strong emotion, there are times when hate is more than appropriate.
