a classic that not many people have even heard of. The Changleling. Top two on horror movies from every critic there is. If there is younger people there is no blood or guts but lots of psychological horror

I always find that showing classics at a Halloween party has the best result. I don't mean contemporary classics, I mean the older black and white Classics.
I went to a Halloween party a number of years ago where we watched "Creature From The Black Lagoon", one of the Universal Classics from the 1930's, with excellent results.
These are usually light, but still creepy without being over the top in gore. Also, they are interesting to watch as it can give you an appreciation for the early fim making techniques.
I recommend: Dracula (1931), Creature From The Black Lagoon, Invisible Man, Wolfman, or any others from that era.
If you can get your hands on a copy, I would also suggest Nosferatu, but make sure it is the original silent version, and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, as these are both very heavy in atmosphere, and are quite spooky.

the remake of "dawn of the dead" or "the descent"
these are the only two genuinely scary movies that have come out in the past 10 years.
Show everyone "the grudge" if you want them to fall asleep, or become confused and leave your party. Oh no, soaking wet japanese woman emitting a loud belch, how frightening!!

THE EXORCIST!!! Or the original Psycho. The two classics! Just don't get one of the crappy new ones like The Grudge or something. All the new horror movies suck, minus The Others and The Ring.

I think Silent Hill would rock at anyone's party. It is based on psychological horror using creatures that are not real. Thats as halloweenish as you get and it has a really interesting plot line.
