A free Iraq is a benefit to the world, not just our country.

It will serve as a spearhead to democratic reforms throughout the middle east, diluting the influence of radical Islam.

People want to be free. A large majority of the Islamic world wants peace and moderation.

Pulling out of Iraq is the worst thing we could do right now.

You have to be fairly educated on world affairs and history to truly understand why Iraq is beneficial to us and why we are there. Unfortunately liberal democrats are counting on you being stupid and uneducated. In short, Iraq is not good for us today. Its costing us lives. Its costing us money. Its making the world hate us. Its really not beneficial at all if you look at it that way. Fortunately we have a president with some balls, unlike Clinton, who really got us into this mess in the first place. So why are we there?

1. Terrorism. We have brought the terrorists to us in Iraq to fight the US Marines. They stand no chance and they will be defeated. You can never completely defeat terrorists, but we have many of the larger terrorist groups on the ropes. Al-qaeda is a thing of the past and if Iraq emerges as a stable, democratic country that is a huge blow to terrorists around the globe.

2. The middle east. The whole middle east situation is far too complicated to cover here but suffice it to say that it is a nightmare and it is partially our fault for screwing up the Iranian situation 40 years ago. We MUST have a stable, democratic nation besides Israel in the middle east. Its not negotiable. If we don't achieve this goal our children will be handed a time bomb to deal with.

3. Peace- Read about Germany, Korea, and Japan 50 years ago to realize how backwards, evil, dictatorships can be turned around to become strong, stable, democratic, economic powerhouses. If this happens in Iraq the world will be a MUCH better place than how things were headed under Saddam.

In short, read your history, read your current events and get informed. This isn't a small issue and its not something you can learn about in five minutes. That, as usual is what demoncrats are hoping for in this election. That you will be stupid and emotional. They will have you focused on short term issues so that you will bring them back into power and it will be at the expense of the next generation who will have to go right back and correct our mistakes if we are not vigilant.

I will keep it simple.
We are at war. We have been even before 9/11(USS Cole embassy bombings so on)
If Iraq was not going on we would be having day to day bombings in the us

I have no idea but I would really like to know. I'm having a hard time accepting the deaths and maiming of our soldiers. In fact, I don't accept it.
