I am writing a paper for my biological psychology class about insomnia? Can anyone give me any useful links or know anything about what happens in the brain that causes insomnia?

there are two significant wave signs in the brain. alpha and beta waves. you can "ride on Alpha" and function normally, but actually be sleeping and at rest. At the drill press, driving, or doing a mundane task. A lot of accidents occur on the Job this way. the Beta waves are basically verification waves of recieving info, a more alert state

I know the cause psychologically but it is anecdotal not sure that is helpful. I am someone who had insomnia so bad I could not be put under anesthesia for surgery; I could not fall asleep for 2-3 hrs at night. I now fall asleep in 5 minutes. I learned the cause of insomnia is a lack of peace reserves caused by people being too serious. The best sleepers are kids and they like to joke around and be lighthearted and they have large peace reserves. For adults who do not have the gift of sleep (20% of population), they need to think in funny, lighthearted ways a lot and this builds up their peace reserves. I changed my thinking to this way and now fall right to sleep at night. This is totally new research I did for the last year on myself, "guinea pig A", so you won't find it anywhere but I am working on a book and there is lots of biographical info on great sleepers to support this--like Bill Gates, often described as "childlike" in biography "Hard Drive".
