The first thing that came to my mind was imagination & optimism that anything is possible. Belief in the very idea that I can create. Then there's visualization. Seeing it in reality.

The way creative mind works is different from normal minds. The way creative mind think is complex yet simple. I believe short cut is a no-no. That's why I say complex. And the other thing is that what the end product of creative mind has created is very original and don't seem to follow rules or patterns that we all are familiar with in daily life situation. People with highly creative mind are able to think divergently, just as a sponge able to absorb water from all directions, and that they are able to percieve things from many angles as well as being able to look at things from very big picture (bigger picture than you and I can imagine, just as mathematicians are). I guess they're are not simple people with simple mind. That's why I compare them to mathematicians because mathematicians have gigantic minds too.

"And God breathed into him a Living Soul".
A living soul, (not a robot) a free mind with a free will that is the only answer along with Love of Life. Curiousity takes place after the mind has explored the perimeters and then broadens to improve upon the thoughts brilliantly expressed through the open mind. Man has always had the opportunity it is only the choices he makes that make the difference.

Off hand, I'd say creativity.
I think "uncreative" mind is an oxymoron. Everyones' minds everyday create their entire reality.
Are we speaking strictly of artistic creation? What isn't art? There's art to cooking, to math, to breathing, to life.
Even the most pedestrian soul who feels completely cut off from "creative" pursuits creates on a daily basis. Whether it is a bent paper clip, a doodle, an oddly phrased memo, there is something each day that requires a creative mind.
We are pattern makers and symbol users. Some anthropologists and philosophers think this distinguishes us from most other species (although, I doubt it). However, to use symbols and seek patterns requires creativity.

The quality of seeing things that which possibly cannot, will not, or should not be done, and making and then.................doing it.
Going against the grain, using intuition, discovery, leadership, using your raw talents---All qualities of a creative mind.
