i heard that it is not good to give a baby (9 month old) sour fruits like orange, tangerine, lemon, kiwi, lime.
sometimes i just bite through a slice and i very quick put the fruit on his tongue, just so he gets a little juice. so maybe 10 drops. he makes a funny face from the sour.
so please let me know weather i should worry and stop it or not.

plus, if you give fruits to the baby, does it have to be cooked or can it be raw (apples, pears..., not the banana)???

thanks

Oranges, lemon, etc have pulp in them that may make them gag if it gets stuck on their tounge. Cooked fruits are easier for them to eat. I made the mistake of giving my son raw bananas mashed up and it hurt his stomach really bad, but when they were cooked he could eat them with no problems.

Any fruit should be fine for a 9 month old. small pieces so not to choke. And I wouldn't do too many sour fruits like lemons and limes. That's a little overload for taste buds. But citrus is good for babies too, vitamin C and antioxidants.

This must be your first child. Its not going to hurt the baby to taste citrus fruit. Yes raw fruit is fine as long as the baby can chew and swallow. I would mash the bananas and feed them with a spoon or you can blend fruit with food processor or blender. Fruit is good for baby as well as you.
