...I know a few girls who are some of my closes friends, knowing them for years. They are either single, dating, or have boyfriends. I am not into having relationships at this time, but the time will come when I find a girl. Should I continue being close to them, socialize on a irregular bases, or back-off for my own sake?

Yikes - been there. Depends how secure your future GF is going to be. The general rule is that your new GF isnt going to like your mutual friends taking your time. Then you have the hardest rule to contend with - can a man be just friends with a beautiful woman?

Definately stay friends with them and see them on a regular basis. I don't think any girl is worth dating if she can't understand that you have mutual friends - especially if they are from way back.

Don't ever lose the friends you have over a girlfriend. Your friends will always be there - the girlfriend may not. If your girlfriend wants all of you then they are a part of you so they make up all of you.

Well really only you can answer that!

If you get into a relationship you don't drop all of your friends, if you are constantly in touch with your female friends while you have a girlfriend maybe you would want to taper that off a bit.

If You wouldn't care that your girlfriend had as many male friends as you have female friends and you consent to her chatting with or hooking up with them (as you would with your female friends) then go for it.

But relationships are about respect and bringing all of yourself and all of herself into the relationship, friends can be included or excluded. Each relationship is different so you can just cross that bridge when you get to it!

I think the answer to this question is quite obvious to anybody that lives in a society.

Socialize and spend time with those you like most, back off from those that don't have a personality that appeals to you.
