Usually any business with a yahoo or hotmail account I automatically blow off as a joke and refuse to do any business with them where if it is something secure like Gmail I will accept it

What a question to ask in the Yahoo Forum!?
Gmail and Yahoo both have their pros and cons.
Gmail can be configured on any e-mail Client without a problem, even with their freebie accounts; whereas Yahoo makes this a Premium Paid Service.
Gmail gives 2 GB storage space, whereas Yahoo gives 1 GB to freebie accounts.
Yahoo isn't "invitations only" so, a lot of riffraff can be found here and the spammers have a field day. Gmail, on the other hand is "invitations only". However, that doesn't mean the spammers haven't got in there, they may have. And, anyway a spammer need not be a Member to spam from outside.
However, in Gmail, you cannot attach an exe file, because Gmail Security will not allow it, nor can you receive one such; whereas Yahoo has no such restriction.
Now, one needs to see what features best suit ones needs to be able to state, unequivocally, that Gmail or Yahoo is better suited for one, isn't it?
All the best.
Cheers.

Gmail is still in Beta stages which means that all of your email is recorded. This puts you at a bad stage if you have stuff that you don't want read and you don't want kept in a file. Now as the previous person said, it is invite only which is awesome. This keeps the spammers WAY down. I like the layout of gmail alot better as well. So, I would have to say gmail is better for the look and the need, but if it's privacy that you want then Yahoo is the way to go....you'll be lost in the sea of everyone else haha.

I ****LOVE***** Gmail but no offense yahoo, but your e-mail sucks
Reasons
1. Conversations are moved in one e-mail and moved to the top of the Inbox.
2. Less Spammers
3. Easier to attach a document.
4. Gmail chat with no downloads needed.
5. Archiving
6. More space.
7. Search mail
8. Invitation
9. Filters and Forwarding
10. Well, there is no 10

Its a tough call. Yahoo has many awards but most techies are leaning towards Gmail. Both email service has pros and cons.
Get yourself an account in Yahoo and Gmail and see for yourself.

It's really a personal choice, both have good points and bad. It is just the one that you get used to and like the best. I have both yahoo, and gmail, I use gmail for my newsletters. etc, and to store some documents. I use yahoo to send emails etc..

i think yahoo...Gmail only works on the computer, not on any of the laptops (at least, for my family). i think yahoo is neater, and has more thingamabobs, but Gmail has its goods, too.
