my printer is a huge one, a copier and scanner

it has a paper jam, and I took out the excess sticking out paper.

Most of the time it will do nothing to harm your computer or printer. All you have to do is plug it back in (and maybe restart computer). Howver certain printers can have errors with that. In futue use your computer to cancel jobs (or just take out paper) and don't unplug the printer.

If it still has a paper jam then you are gona have to try to get the paper out. Somtimes they have a feed button to feed it through other times you have to open it up and manual remove the paper by hand.

However it should work when you plug it back up and restart your computer. If the pool got saved then it will try to print the rest of the whatever you where trying to print before. Just let it do it, I think it should have got cleared when you restarted.

Next time just remove the paper tray or pull the paper from the paper tray. The printer will only waste one sheet and you most likely will not jam your computer.... click on the printer icon to delete the print job. then turn off the printer....
