Hi,
I don't know the make of your laptop. Sony, for instance, gives you the ability to go to their website and download the entire OS or application recovery. I don't understand what services were performed on your computer and why it is still not working properly. However, most hard drives have a D partition that has the applications that came-initially on your laptop. Other manufacturers put all back up files on the D partition so you an make CD's in case of operating system failure. The best advice I could give you without knowing all the particulars is the following: when the computer boots up keep your finger on the F8 button. You will see a black and white screen with many options. The one you want to highlight is the one that reads Last Good Known Configuration. Again, the system recovery files, which need to be burned so you can restore your computer to origianl state, may be on your D: partition. Hope this helps BB

You didn't say where you sent it in. Was it to the original manufacturer or did you have some techno geek repair shop work on it. When you bought the machine it had a drive image on it. It's normally hidden but can be used to recover the system to it's original configuration. It sounds like whoever worked on it formatted your drive, eliminating the mirror. You may not have the capability to recover any more. Talk to whoever did the work to find out for sure.

When you are ready to buy a new system, go to www.stupidcheapcomputers.net. I buy all of my stuff from them.

I bought a complete, new system from them with a warranty for LESS than it would cost me to build it myself or order a custom one from the manufacturer. You can use my frequent buyer code: ATX926. That will get an additional 10% discount at checkout.

I have NEVER had any problems with anything that they have sold me and their customer service is outstanding. Those guys blow my mind.

Good luck!

If you're heavy on gaming opt for a well PC as they present extra choices for video games and mods. If you wish a pc so that you can run smoother with fewer insects and disorders, appear at a well mac. If you want extra ram, you'll mostly pay a little bit extra and feature the manufacturer upload extra ram for you.
