how is it that NOBODY, including the french lady, EVER noticed another island??? seriously you think they would have mentioned it! and you know they didnt because sawyer seemed shocked when he found out. is this just a big hole in the plot?

but you think they would have searched the skyline EXTENSIVELY if they were trapped on an island! and didnt one go to the top of a mountain on the island? he would see everything! even a little island would seem important!

I'm unconvinced.
I still think it could be one island and Sawyer was shown some huge bay. The Survivors have done a lot of exploring and their golf course is up high. Maybe it has something to do with the epidsode where they were told not to cross that line -- maybe that's the line where they could've seen something (in daylight)
I have problems with the two isalnd theory bc when the plane went down, two Others were told to run and pretend to be Survivors. So if there are two islands, the Others have a main camp on the other one with the Survivors. Which seems unlikely bc we never saw Kate, Jack, and Sawyer put on a boat.

How in the heck would you know they like to keep us throughly confused. I kind of think they are still on the main island and the one they showed sawyer was just a island across from them. It could simply be their way of messing with him again so he won't bother escaping. But.... they did mention something about a submarine so......

I agree, I think they are messing with Sawyer and there is no "other island", but I could be wrong, just a feeling.

when you look at a picture of ben and sawyer looking at the main island, it looks pretty far away. ben said that this new island is around the size of alcatraz. it's possible that no one noticed it. or at the very least, they realized how tiny it was and figured that it wasn't important.

My guess would be that it is to far away to see and it is probably a lot smaller than their island making it harder to see.
