Crank up the music to a fast-paced radio station, wear your comfortable clothes, and set up a reward that you will give yourself when you are done: like put the number of your favourite pizza place handy to call for pizza when you're done, with a good book and a beer on the side later, or the TV guide open to tonight's TV listing. In your mind, fast-forward to what the house will look like when you are done, and you could have a friend over to share in your beer and pizza (no time to make dinner when you're cleaning.) I prefer to spread out the housework over a couple days. One day, laundry and outdoor chores, (you can set your washer dryer and leave them unattended for a while and go outside), then focus on vacuuming and dusting and heavy cleaning another day. Too much in one day will be tiring and turn you off on doing chores. Good luck.

Make a list of everything you need to clean and cross them off when your done. Put down small things like wipe the counter or throw away bad milk. This makes you feel more productive! If you have laundry to do you gotta get Delicate Drops. Go to www.delicatedrops.com

You just have to force yourself to start. I find that's the hardest part, starting. Once you've begun you kind of get into the groove of it and you don't want to stop until everything's clean (well that's what happens with me anyway). Put some music on or something and make yourself get up and do it. It's just a matter of willpower - you can beat the laziness!! You'll like your house so much better once you've cleaned it too.

1) Work toward a reward; doesn't matter how big.
2) Consider every little step the only job at hand until they're all done.
3) Above posters are right: your favorite music can make the whole task melt away in the background. You won't even realize you've been working after a few minutes... well, kinda.
Have fun, sistergirl.

Think of how much worse it will get if you let it go any longer, then you will have to spend even more time cleaning your house.
