You could go with the classics, like Psycho, or The Birds...

I would vote for the Exorcist, I saw that movie and had nightmares for three months.... THe 1st Friday the 13th is good. the originalAmityville Horror is good, And the 1st NIghtmare on Elm Street is good, the Omen is a good chiller, and then there is Poltergeist is really scary in my opinion, and the Shining, In my opinion, the movies made in the 70's and 80's are much scarier than the movies made today. As far as I Know, none of these have excessive or any nudity, language, you just can't get away from.

The original Chucky. A creepy scary movie. Read up on it to see if it matches your requirements.

A fun one is Return of The Living Dead. Go to ImDB and search for keywords living dead to read about it. It was made in 1985 and is one of my favorites.

C'mon you knuckleheads, she said for 12 and 13 year olds. The Exorcist hardly meets that criteria based on the obscene language, alone. Think. Use your brains. No sex, no obscene language.

Actually scary Halloween movies shouldn't be viewed by young teens. Halloween movies tend to be gory and violent. Most scary movies are rated R for that reason. But if you want to view a movie for youngsters, I would suggest the Scary Movie series. Scary, funny, not as gory, but a little crude at times. Although I believe they are also rated R.

Actually I agree & disagree with dramaqueen on this topic.

Yes, I think young teens should not watch overly scarly movies because of the content.

No, I do not think that if a teen watches it, they will get ideas.

Its all up to the parents on this. If you allow your children to watch scary movies, then be prepared to be up all night with them when they have nightmares.

For the record I didn't see a horror movie until I was seventeen when my boyfriend took me to see one. I can't remember what it was, because we didn't watch all of it. *wink wink
