If I have installed dsl on my desktop and wish to install it on a laptop so that I can take the dsl box into the bedroom so that I can use the laptop when I am sitting in bed, will it work. I want to be able to have access on both computers by just taking the little box from room to room and plugging it into the phone jack thing and computer. want the laptop mainly for wi fi when I am out but would like to use it at home too.

Yes I only want to access one computer at a time. It isn't a problem carrying the little box and 2 wires to the other room as I would probably use one computer a few days a week and the other the rest of the time.

you need a router to hookup more than one computer on a single dsl line. you can use that cd on the laptop if you want to access the internet one computer at a time
