The Republican, and Democrats attack each other in the press, but they all go to the same restaurants, drink at the same bars, and live in well protected neighborhoods in Washington D.C., "some of them are neighbors!" Perhaps it's time for a third party, one that will represent the people, not Haliburtan!

We are all people trying to make the right decision that is best (in our own mind(s)) for the country and perhaps the world as a whole!

Each party has traditionally supported basic values. Thus, we choose to identify ourselves as one or the other, or maybe a 3rd choice, if the first 2 seem "off".

So, to answer your question, Yes and No! We are the same (all caring people, in one way or another). And yet, we are all different depending on our outlook in life. Much has to do with our upbringing. Did you live in the slums? Was your family wealthy? Were (are) you a member of a gang? The Boy/Girl Scouts? Do you have an education, a home, a life?

Many things contribute to the final answer and much of it has to do with your past!

So, a third party? Yes, when it is necessary. And No! This only serves to aid one of the other parties and it may not serve the one you hoped.

Sincerely,

The Ol' Sasquatch Ü

In your American system, I believe the candidate is more important than the party. I think in some areas it is possible for a Democrat candidate to be more conservative than the Republican one. So it is even more important for you than for us Canadians to study each Candidate - his voting record if he has already served... the party he represents will not guarantee he will vote according to the principles you are hoping for.
So probably a third party in your situation will not make all that big a difference - but I don't really know.
Have you considered running for office yourself? Best thing to do if you feel you are not being offered a real choice.
